Robeco, the FAIRR Initiative, BBFAW and Finch & Beak are convening a Business Roundtable in Rotterdam on the business case for animal welfare and phasing out antibiotics.

The roundtable will be conducted in the form of an open dialogue between investors and companies active in the meat supply chain. Among the invited participants are meat producers, meat processors, suppliers, restaurants, retailers, industry trade associations and investors.

The roundtable aims to share knowledge among business partners and investors on the following topics:

  • Risk and opportunities: How do companies perceive risks and opportunities around animal welfare and the use of antibiotics in the meat supply chain?
  • Barriers to improvement: What are barriers for adoption of better animal welfare standards and use of probiotics at producer level?
  • Available tools: What are tools available for investors to analyse companies’ performance on animal welfare and the use of antibiotics?
  • Equity and credit analysis: How are these issues factored into equity and credit analysis at Robeco and RobecoSAM?

The event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
