Collaboration advances impact

The FAIRR Initiative engages in proactive dialogues with investors, companies, policymakers and stakeholders around material ESG issues. FAIRR supports its investor members to identify and prioritise these factors through cutting-edge research and data, which can then be integrated into investment decision-making processes. Through collective investor action, FAIRR enables investor members to exercise their influence as responsible stewards of capital while safeguarding the long-term value of their investment portfolios.

In 2022 FAIRR facilitated investor-led collaborative engagements with 63 companies across the protein value chain on ESG issues such as antibiotic use, sustainable proteins, working conditions and land & ocean biodiversity loss. Of the companies targeted, 78% participated in the engagement dialogues led by investor members.

When the Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index was launched in 2018, only 27% of companies responded to assessments. In 2022, 52% provided feedback to their assessments – underlining that the Index has become a standard benchmark for the sector.
