This webinar is open to signatories to Phase 2 of FAIRR’s Biodiversity, Waste and Pollution Engagement.

Participants will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with one of the experts who informed this engagement, which will help you to prepare for the upcoming company dialogues. We will be joined by Kevin Hicks, a research associate at the Stockholm Environment Institute who has focused on integrated nitrogen management and air pollution impacts on ecosystems for the past 30 years.

The following topics will be discussed:

  • The role of animal agriculture and the use of fertilisers in crop production for animal feed, and the resulting impacts on biodiversity loss.

  • How nutrient pollution happens at various stages of the animal production value chain, as well as the challenges associated with different types of manure and animal waste.

  • The intricacies involved in implementing effective mitigation strategies.

  • The potential of circular solutions to address nutrient pollution, as well as the main barriers hindering the adoption of such solutions.
