
Emma joined FAIRR in 2022 and, as Head of AMR Programmes, leads its AMR workstream. She supports investor members in assessing the financial risks and opportunities associated with AMR, engages with companies in the animal protein value chain, leads FAIRR’s AMR policy work and provides support to the Investor Action on AMR Initiative.
Working at FAIRR
Emma leads FAIRR’s research, corporate engagements and policy activities on AMR and is one of the coordinators of the Investor Action on AMR Initiative. She is also part of a high-impact expert group on AMR, and disseminates FAIRR’s and Investor Action on AMR’s research at conferences and events. Emma co-developed a public investor statement on AMR, endorsed by 86 investors, in advance of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on AMR, outlining seven key asks which global policymakers were urged to consider.
As part of her thematic research on AMR-related risks and opportunities, Emma co-authored an investor guide on AMR in collaboration with the MSCI Sustainability Institute, developed investor guides on species-specific antibiotic use and sector-specific engagement questions on antibiotics and AMR for FAIRR’s investor members. The AMR team also assesses and engages the animal pharmaceutical and quick-service restaurant sectors on antibiotic stewardship and publishes engagements progress report.
Experience
Emma is an experienced leader and health and sustainability specialist with over 18 years of experience working with investors, corporates and academic institutions. Prior to joining FAIRR, Emma worked as an engagement professional in EOS, the engagement and stewardship team at Federated Hermes, where she engaged with large listed companies on a wide range of material sustainability issues. She also led the natural resource stewardship theme team at EOS, where she developed successful engagement strategies on AMR, among other key topics.
Emma holds an MSc in Biomedicine and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Lund University in Sweden and has published peer-reviewed journal articles.
